The Facebook page has been active since 2003, and has more than 360 likes.

The Facebook page SFUAD Confessions is one of the most famous pages on campus with more than 360 likes. Whether you have a complaint about a class, a crush to confess or just a message you want to send out to the world, SFUAD Confessions is the place to go to. People have less trouble speaking their minds anonymously, which SFUAD Confessions helps accomplish. All you have to do is send the page administrators a message with a confession, and they will post it on the page under the pseudonym of Greer Garson. Jackalope Magazine had the chance to speak with the creators of the page in an anonymous interview because, of course, it could have not been any other way.

Jackalope Magazine: Are you one person or a group?

SFUAD Confessions: We are a team. Our goal is to protect the world from devastation, to unite all people within our nation, to denounce the evils of truth and love, and to extend our reach to the stars above.

JM: Gender?

SC: Gender is singular, its versions are mistruths.

JM: Are you a current student at SFUAD?

SC: No. My body has passed, but my spirit remains.

JM: How long have you been running this page?

SC: Since the moon shined over All Hallow’s Eve of many months past, 13 years past the millennium.

JM: Why did you start this page?

SC: Watching over people gossiping and talking shit on the staircase for so many years inspired me to give all of you hoodlums a medium of expression. It may be anonymous, but at least people get to express themselves.

JM: Why the identity of Greer Garson?

SC: I rule supreme over any other name on this campus. My career and image are clearly the only thing that sets this school apart from any others, so clearly, I was the appropriate choice.

JM: Do you plan on passing it on to another student when you graduate?

SC: Shirley Temple may take over once I’m tired of all you people. She’s learning quick.

JM: Why do you think students use your page?

SC: Anonymity gives people some kind of encouragement to say the things they wouldn’t in person. People confess their love for other students, their mischievous activities on various parts of campus, and although we don’t publish it, sometimes their anger toward some of the faculty members.

JM: What is your selection process?

SC: We’ve made it a rule to not publish anything that directly calls out a specific student in a negative way…or even faculty members. We’ll admit sometimes we’ve been taken aback from what people say about others, but we’ve kept it only to positive-like comments about others.

JM: What have you learned from all the confessions you’ve received?

SC: The one thing that always remains constant is the student body’s problems. It seems as if most of the students have the same problems. Things like sex life, financial problems, lack of courage, etc. Over time, we’ve discovered how important  it is to have a place for the students to vent and the great thing is that our page prevents students from bringing drama to the Student Life Facebook page.

JM: Do you have any confessions for us? Anything you would like to add?

SC: Sometimes we think we’re really cool because we have up to 50 notifications on our or phone at a time, but it’s just the notifications from the page. We can see everything ya’ll lil nasties like and comment.
