Chain Free Santa Fe

 

Local citizens spoke out at a public hearing with the Santa Fe County Commissioners, on Sept. 13. The topic was whether or not the County’s animal ordinance should now ban the restraint of dogs with chains, tethers and trolley systems. A grassroots dog advocacy group, Chain Free Santa Fe, led by Martha Kennedy, filled the room in support of the proposed ordinance. The next county meeting will be held onSept. 27, at 5 p.m. The vote will take place at a third meeting, the date and location of which will be announced.
