When entering Fogelson Library, the very discreet “Book Exchange” shelf can be found on the right side of the entrance. The shelf is for patrons who like to leave a book for other people’s use and take a book that piques their interest. According to Margaret Van Dyk, Fogelson’s director, the little shelf used to be a telephone booth until it was removed a few years ago. Van Dyk says the shelf wasn’t her idea but her former colleague’s, Morgan Light, who had the idea to repurpose the shelf.
