Pride Weekend 2017

The Santa Fe LGBTQIA+ community gathered Sept. 15-17 to celebrate Pride on the Santa Fe University of Art and Design campus and throughout town. The weekend kicked off Friday afternoon with a parade from Fort Marcy Park to the Plaza. Santa Fe District 4 City Councilor Ronald Trujillo served as the grand marshal and was joined by multiple floats, marchers and drag queen special guests. Saturday kicked off at noon on the SFUAD campus with performances by local bands, the gender illusionists Jewel Box Cabaret and a special show by RuPaul Drag Race’s Latrice Royale. Attendees also enjoyed food trucks and booths from local LGBTQIA+ organizations. That night, many continued to celebrate at the Skylight Cafe which was having a special Pride night. Sunday wrapped up with a Pride brunch at the Museum Hill Cafe.
