Art by Monté Del Sol
On any given day of the week, the Marion Center feels like a museum. This is especially the case when there is a new show—such as the latest annual Monte Del Sol exhibit. Monte Del Sol has been collaborating with Santa Fe University of Art and Design for more than five years, with the current exhibit featuring more than 200 pieces of high school students’ work. For the Feb. 7 opening, the often quiet center became a hustling and bustling gallery space, and the building was bubbling over with energy and excitement. The Monte Del Sol exhibit has always had a fantastic turnout, but this year’s opening, coupled with the opening of the Kevin O’Connell Gallery, made for a mind-blowing crowd of students from both Monte Del Sol and SFUAD, as well as other art enthusiasts. But for those who missed the opening, don’t worry: the Monte Del Sol gallery will be up until the middle of March.
