The EXIT Gallery is an opportunity for Photographic Society members to showcase some of their work for two weeks at a time. Ending the schedule for this year is Craig Duncan with his series “It’s Whatever You Want It to Be, Baby.” The premise for this series was to take as much control out of his hands as possible, and to make as many prints as possible. Because of this, Duncan was able to set himself on auto pilot, and create hundreds of individual pieces. Duncan explains how artists from ancient Rome and Greece would credit “fairies” for their creative process, which would alleviate them from taking full credit for bad work. Normally, Duncan has trouble with overthinking his work and trying to control it too much, so this provided an opportunity to take a step back from his usual practice.
