Student Spotlight: Marco Rivera

Marco Rivera is a senior photography major at Santa Fe University of Art and Design from Amarillo, TX. Growing up he always had a passion for Studio Arts and was looking for a way out of his hometown. Having no previous experience in photography, he gave it his best shot and changed majors halfway through his first year at SFUAD. “Coming from that studio arts background, I implemented the creativity I had in my art into making images that really do have a relationship with the subject,” Rivera says. Currently, Rivera shoots fashion photography and wishes to expand that into other mediums. He really enjoys having the freedom to express himself through photography and he does not believe that would be possible without SFUAD. His plans after college are to move to Los Angeles, CA and be represented by a photo agent to gain more exposure in the community.
