Pets on Parade

The streets of downtown Santa Fe were lined as far as the eyes could see Sept. 9 with people waiting to see the pet parade. As the parade started, children came forward into the streets waiting for the parade floats to come passing by. Each school had its own signs and themes. There were the same amount of dogs as there were people. Children were running to catch the candy that participants tossed out. Since this was my first year attending the parade, I was delighted at the creative costume designs, wagon decorations and pet flare. I sat on the shady sidewalk with my kids eating candy and thinking to myself, I will definitely do this again next year!
