Three baby goats

On March 2 at 1:30 pm, campus goat Africa gave birth to three kids and, after much anticipation, they were presented to the SFUAD campus on March 6.

The eldest baby goat, the white one, followed by the brown and tan one, were displayed next to the security station where students could see them, take pictures and pet the mother.

Peter Romero, director of facilities and security, said that the only precautions students should take are “not touching or feeding the kids, the mother will do that. If you touch them, there is a chance the mother might disown them.”

Student excitement at finally watching the goats was noticeable.

“I think it’s interesting on how many people are interested in baby goats. Most people are too busy with their lives but here they are, watching the goats, because they are so cute and all they do is walk and jump around,” said Creative Writing major Marina Wolven.

“Baby goats are one of the best gifts that life can give. They don’t have their goatees yet but they’ll have them,” added Animation major Dominic Acosta.

Next week, Jackalope Magazine will be working together with Romero to gather student and campus suggestions for names for all three baby goats.
