In the midst of caucuses, primaries and the March 1 Super Tuesday right around the corner, SFUAD students were asked their preference in the Democratic primary presidential candidates.

Ricky Rubio: “I would have to say Sanders honestly. His political views are interesting…He has an understanding of what’s going on, certainly in our economic crisis that we always seem to have. I’m rooting for that guy, you know.”

Joseph Gordon: “Bernie. Definitely Bernie. Everyone else seems not sane. That’s the best way I can put it. He definitely appeals more to our age group with what we’re actually concerned about. Hillary has done some pretty crazy things that I don’t agree with…and I don’t even want to talk about Trump. He’s just, no,”

Alex Slim: “I like them both, but I’m gonna have to go with Clinton. She’s very qualified and she already has experience in the White House. She knows how the system works already and she’s a very educated woman, a Democrat.”

Troi Speaks: “I’d have to say Bernie. I dunno, I feel like he’s the better choice for us…I think he’ll do more for us, for the America we’re supposed to be, a melting pot. I don’t think I’d mind higher taxes.”

Marcus Bannafrit: “Sanders. He seems to grasp the concept of how the Middle Class works…and what needs to be done to better the education system.”

Izzy Jordan: “He’s way more understanding.”

Lucciano Thompson: “Plus, he’s not a racist dick. Bernie, he has a pretty consistent history as well, especially in regards to people of my ethnic persuasion. Hillary, she’s just secretive.”

Danny Santana: “Bernie Sanders.“Bernie Sanders. He wants to reduce the cost of college and I think that’s the most reasonable thing to do. You gotta do it. America expects us to prosper, but how are we expected to do that when we spend an exorbitant amount of money?”

Sienna Prillaman: “I’m a little disappointed that everyone wants to vote for Bernie without knowing all the facts about him. Well, I guess it’s not disappointing, but I wish people would understand why they are voting for him rather than just going along with everyone else. But, he is the best candidate.

Jaan Carlo Morales: “Sanders. He has better views about what our generation needs. Most of the politicians right now aren’t really focusing on the younger generation and they should. He knows what we need. When Sanders did that interview with Killer Mike, I think it really showed how open he is.”

Daniel Sanchez: “I think Sanders because I believe that the person that becomes president should be the person that wants the job the least, and all he’s brought up is the bad things about our government…so he’s bringing up what needs to be fixed.”
