Chinese Lantern Festival

On a cool, crisp autumn evening, more than 30 larger-than-life illuminated displays light up the night. The displays are crafted by Chinese artisans from Zigong, Sichuan, China’s cultural capital for the ancient art of lantern making. The event is the New Mexico Chinese Lantern Festival and it’s happening from Oct. 6 to Nov. 12, 2017 in Albuquerque. In addition to the lighted lantern sculptures, there are exciting performances and handicrafts, as well as food and beverages to add to the fun, cultural experience.  It’s intriguing to watch artisans working on their crafts and you can even purchase the finished art. Take a leisurely stroll through the grounds and enjoy the wonderful scenery at this family friendly event.
