Santa Fe University of Art and Design’s President Christine Guevara was appointed to her new position just last summer, but she has a longstanding relationship with the institution. Guevara left her home state of Michigan and moved to Santa Fe 25 years ago, became an employee of the College of Santa Fe and completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at CSF. When CSF became SFUAD, Guevara began employment with the new school while working on her doctorate in education leadership from the University of Liverpool. She enjoys the cyclical nature of higher education and hopes to continue working with college students in Santa Fe. Guevara has two teenage daughters and also has entertained the idea of becoming a principal for a high school either in Santa Fe or Montana after SFUAD’s closure next year.
